why, part 1

This afternoon was the first read-through for the Vagina Monologues. I had a lot of fun. It really is liberating to say "vagina" out loud in front of people, and find that you're not blushing.

One of the things we were supposed to do for today was put together some kind of more-or-less creative statement about why we're involved in the Vagina Monologues. I am on the lesser side of creative...as well as the lesser side of punctuality. I'll post my statement here in a few days, when it's done.

In the meantime, there's some really fascinating stuff about Christianity and sexuality to be read in the archives of the Feminarian's blog: http://feminary.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_feminary_archive.html.

Oh come on Jen, you didn't post your definition of a "Christian orgasm." I was scrolling down the comments...and nothing. Sheesh.

Hmmm...I started reading Feminary right after she posted all that stuff, so I missed out on getting to send in my anecdotes, etc. Oh well.

Perhaps "christian orgasm" occurs whenever the participants simultaneously cry out, "Oh Jesus"? Keep in mind, this could happen anywhere...very dangerous...
