aardvarks and humans

Aardvarks and humans share the rare distinction of being the only surviving species of their genus.

Em? How 'bout a chorus of "I'm all alooone in the woooorrld"? Maybe the aardvarks'll join in...

I think you meant to ask, "what distinction do humans and aardvarks share?" If the question is only "What do humans and aardvarks have in common?" then I would be inclined to say, "They both eat ants." A whole cult of guys I knew in high school ate ants. I used to eat chocolate covered ants until my mother told me it was just puffed rice covered in chocolate. I don't have much to think about these days.

you're picking on my diction? this is my little bloggy world here!

are you sure aardvarks eat ants? I thought that was ant-eaters. Seriously, despite the tautology.

Termites too! Yummy. My cat also eats ants, but she is not an aardvark. Don't call her an ant-eater, you tautologist.

okay, but clearly anteaters eat ants too. and i'm not the one who named them. obviously it was some biologist with way too little imagination.
